With the large number of great communities in the Edmonton area, you might wonder why you should consider moving somewhere outside the city limits. However, Beaumont is a great little community that’s perfect for those looking for a quieter lifestyle. Blending affordability and convenience, you’ll soon see why this could be a great choice for your family.

    Rapid Growth

Beaumont may not be a brand new community, but it’s still experiencing rapid growth. In fact, it’s the fifth fastest-growing community in Canada! What could this mean for you? On one hand, it gives you the opportunity to really shape the face of the community and make connections. Additionally, rapid expansion is almost always a good thing for the property values of those who purchase early on. While there are no guarantees, there’s a good chance that your property’s value will increase.

At any time of year, residents of Beaumont enjoy heading to the Aqua-Fit Centre. There’s a pool for swimming (and lessons for the kids), ice skating, group fitness classes, and more. If you prefer being in the great outdoors, you might head to the Four Seasons Park, where there are walking trails and playgrounds. One feature of the park is Don Sparrow Lake, which is sometimes open for fishing or ice skating.

    French Immersion School

There is an abundance of schools in this community that offer French immersion programs, due to the French Canadian history of Beaumont (it started as a french colony in 1895). Approximately 75 to 80 percent of all instruction is in French, with English instruction beginning in third grade. Students from both the English and French programs are able to intermingle for extracurricular classes like gym and other activities.

    Community Events

When you live in Beaumont, you won’t have to travel into Edmonton to enjoy some fun activities with your family. The city plans several events throughout the year to help you feel connected to the community. For instance, Family Day features acts and activities that will appeal to kids of all ages. It’s nice to have something so fun to look forward to in the middle of winter. There’s also the Beaumont Blues & Roots Festival, Alberta Culture Days, and much more.

    Nearby Shopping

People love Beaumont for the small-town feel, but you’ll be happy to know that you don’t have to sacrifice convenience in order to live that lifestyle. There are a number of stores nearby, including things like the Montalet Shopping Centre, Sobey’s, and Shoppers Drug Mart. If you’re looking for something more unique, the Southwest Edmonton area is just 10 minutes away. In this area, you’re more likely to find smaller boutiques, and there’s always the Windermere Shopping Centre a short drive away down Anthony Henday.

    Recreation Subsidies

Many families choose to have a stay-at-home parent, but living on a single income can be hard, and it often prevents people from signing their children up for educational or developmental programs. Those who live in Beaumont may be eligible for special subsidies to help make these types of things more affordable. Check out the government website for more details.

Affordability is a top concern for many families, and that’s what you'll find when you build your home in Beaumont. Whether you take these savings to decrease your monthly bill or put them into adding more “extras” into your home, you can’t deny that you get more bang for your buck in Beaumont.

    Satisfaction

Simply put, people who choose to build their home in Beaumont are happy with their choices. The town conducts satisfaction surveys every two years. In the most recent survey (2017), 82 percent of residents rated the quality of life as “very good” or “excellent”. This is even an increase over the 76 percent of residents who answered the same in the 2015 survey. Hopefully, that satisfaction rate will continue to increase as more and more amenities are built.

Beaumont might be outside of the city limits, but it’s still a great place to live, especially for those who work in South Edmonton or Leduc. Now is a good time to come check out everything this community has to offer. We think you’ll find that it’s easy to imagine your family living here.
