Schools that are full of children from their designated areas are called “Closed Boundary” schools, and these schools will not accept applications from non-designated families. However, a large majority of the schools throughout Sherwood Park have places available for children outside of their area. 

Families can look at their options through the Elk Island Public Schools or through the Elk Island Catholic Schools.

Nearby Shopping

You don’t want to travel long distances to get the things you need. Fortunately, SummerWood is quite close to shopping areas featuring the stores you want. For instance, you can easily head to the Emerald Hills Centre, where you’ll find a Walmart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and a wide variety of other stores. Save-On-Foods, the M&M Food Market, and Real Canadian Superstore are also close.
