    Fall Family Festival at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden

    Take in the fresh air and beautiful fall colours in a peaceful setting near southwest Edmonton. This carefully maintained garden is home to over 8,000 actively managed plants, as well as scenic natural areas like Grebe Pond. Admission is free for kids, so bring the whole family to enjoy complimentary hot drinks, a craft station and a rustic photo area.

    Edmonton Corn Maze

    Tuesday to Sunday until Oct. 16

    Every year, this outdoor maze presents families with a new and original navigation challenge – it’s over 10 acres in size with more than 85 “decision points” along the way! After you exit the maze, jump on the Corn Cob Express mini train or shop at the on-site Farm Market.     Fall-o-ween & Haunted Pumpkin Festival at Prairie Gardens

    Weekends until Oct. 31

    The full farm experience awaits you at Prairie Gardens, just 25 kilometres north of Edmonton. Family members of all ages will enjoy exploring the pumpkin patch and partaking in hayrides, corn mazes, scarecrow making, farm animals, a kid-friendly “haunted house” and “ghost town”, pumpkin games, and more. This event has been an annual tradition for 27 years and truly has something for everyone.

    Gateway to the Stars at Elk Island National Park

    Fridays and Saturdays until Oct. 30

    It’s a perfect time of year to discover the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve in Elk Island National Park. Gather around the campfire at 9:00 pm to view the galaxy in a completely different way. A park guide will be on hand to answer questions and point out constellations. Advance ticket purchase is required.

    Qualico Patio Series and Café Series at Festival Place
