If you're looking to move into a new home and want to increase the functionality of the space, organization is your key to the environment you want. From junk drawers to linen closets, there are several areas that need to be kept tidy in order to enhance the appeal of your interior setting. When you're ready to put everything in its place, we have a few home organization hacks to ensure smart home living.

    1. Use Magnetic Strip Organizers

Magnetic strip organizers serve a variety of different purposes throughout the home to reduce the amount of clutter that is present. You can use a magnetic strip on the wall in your bathroom to hang tweezers, bobby pins, or nail clippers. The strip can also be used in the kitchen to hang various knives that are used throughout the week, making them within reach and easy to find as you cook.

    2. Install a Rod Under the Sink

A common place where clutter develops is underneath the kitchen sink, generally where cleaning supplies are stored. Install a rod that can be used to hang different cleaners for a fast and easy way to get what you need.

    3. Rethink Your Folding Technique

Vertically stacking your tops in your dresser drawers will make them easier to identify when you get dressed each morning. In addition to saving you a ton of space (you can fit way more this way) it will also prevent your shirts from shifting in the drawer when you open or close it each time.

Shoe boxes make excellent dividers in underwear drawers or desk drawers. You can use the boxes to store tools, underwear, ribbon - whatever you want - for a great way of grouping like items and preventing junk from taking over. You can even cut the shoe boxes into different pieces to create customized dividers that are specific to the items you want to store in the drawer.

    5. Store Jewelry on Wine Bottles

Wine bottles are eclectic and can be used to hold bracelets, watches, or necklaces, which can be placed on the neck of the bottle. This will create a chic and fun place to store your accessories without having to dig through jewelry boxes to find what you need.

    6. Hang Accessories on Pegboard

Pegboard is commonly found in the garage to hang tools, but it can also be used in your closet to organize your belts, clutches, ties and sunglasses. Hang the pegboard on a wall and separate each item one inch away from one another to make it easy to find what you need in seconds. You can also hang a mirror on the board to get one last look at your style before heading out of the house each day.

    7. Label Cords with Bread Clips

From the computer mouse to your iPad charger, there are a number of different cables on your desk. Cords can easily become tangled and all look identical, which makes it difficult to find the right cord to plug in when your device is about to die. Label each cord by writing on a bread clip and attaching it for an easy way of plugging in the right device in seconds.

    8. Use a Letter Sorter Box as a Charging Station

Allow your smartphone and iPad to be charged in one place by using an open letter-sorter box to hold your devices and drill holes in the bottom for the cords to run through. You can turn a standard electrical outlet into a four-port USB charger with an additional faceplate. Keep the cords in the box at all times to make for a convenient place to plug in your devices whenever you need to.

    9. Tack Wires Under the Desk

Cable wires that are connected to computers, laptops, and printers can create a cluttered environment in a home office. Tidy up and keep it organized by tacking the wires underneath the desk. This will prevent the wires from becoming tangled or damaged and will also free up extra space on the floor.

    10. Keep Shoes in Boxes

One great way to organize your shoe collection is by keeping them in their original boxes and labeling them with photos. Doing this will make your shoes easy to store and take out for a special occasion when you need your freshest pair of kicks.

It can be easy for your home to become cluttered with unused items throughout the year. By incorporating a few of these organization hacks, you can maintain convenient, appealing spaces in your home.
